IBM Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook (often abbreviated as DAMO) is an IBM add-in that lets organizations use Microsoft Outlook as the front end to an IBM Lotus Domino mail environment. It enables Outlook users to work with Domino-based email, calendars, contacts, and tasks while preserving the familiar Outlook interface.

DAMO installs a MAPI service provider that synchronizes and translates data between Outlook and Domino. It supports common enterprise needs such as scheduling with free/busy lookups, access to the Domino Directory, offline work through replication, and centralized administration and policy control. This makes it useful for coexistence scenarios and for organizations standardizing on Domino servers without requiring users to switch clients.

Key capabilities include:

  • Sending and receiving Domino mail directly from Outlook
  • Two-way synchronization of calendar entries, tasks, and contacts
  • Meeting invitations and free/busy scheduling with Domino users
  • Access to corporate address directories stored in Domino
  • Support for delegation and server-based mail rules (where configured)
  • Offline access with local replicas that sync to the Domino server

Note: DAMO focuses on mail and personal information management; it does not provide access to custom Domino applications.

IBM Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook is developed by IBM and is used by 3 users of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 6.5, 7.0 and 8.0. The name of the program executable file is dfosetup.exe.
